MMRI and Mohawk Valley Living To Hold Health and Science Seminar Series
UTICA, NY – The inaugural series, “Health and Science Made Simple,” will launch on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at MMRI located at 2150 Bleecker Street, Utica, New York. This series is designed to bring health and science to the community in a clear, accessible and engaging way, and will feature panel discussions with MMRI scientists alongside clinicians and academic professionals.
Each seminar will focus on trending health topics, encouraging meaningful and informative dialogue between experts and the public. Community members are invited to submit questions online prior to each event and are encouraged to participate in a live panel discussion.
Thanks to its generous sponsors, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and Central New York Brain and Spine Neurosurgery, the seminars are free and open to the public, with a suggested donation at the door, which will benefit MMRI’s research initiatives. Registration is encouraged, though walk-ins will be welcome as space allows.
The first topic, “The Ozempic Effect: Unpacking the Scientific & Societal Impact,” will feature Maria Kontaridis, Ph.D., executive director, Gordon K. Moe professor and chair of biomedical research and translational medicine at MMRI and Michael Kelberman, M.D., FACC, cardiologist at Central New York Cardiology.
Additional seminars will be held throughout the year, inviting the community to learn, engage and build meaningful connections around science and wellness.
