1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

 Personal information you disclose to us

 In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

 We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

 Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

 Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

 Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is stored by payment gateways hosted on Blackbaud, Stripe and Square. All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

 Information automatically collected

 In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

  • Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
  • When we use Google Maps Platform APIs. We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us using the details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. 9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. 11. ADM-11 DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

Policy Statement

Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) believes in protecting the integrity and privacy of Personal Information gathered from donors and other supporters for the support of the MMRI mission and vision.  The protection of donor privacy is of great importance to us.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to define donor Personal Information and identify its use and protections.

Personal Information

Information that identifies a donor, such as name, address/billing address, phone number, and email address.  There could be times when other personal information that is not listed here is collected to complete a donor transaction.

Procedure

As a donor submitting personal information to MMRI, the donor consents to the terms and conditions of this policy and to the processing and use of their Personal Information as stated below.

MMRI collects and stores personal information for internal purposes only that has been provided by the donor by contact through the MMRI website, email, phone, text, or in person.  MMRI will collect the donor’s name, email, address/billing address, phone number, and payment information provided at the time of donation.

Donor information is only provided to MMRI staff and those working on behalf of MMRI such as volunteers, on a need to know and task-based basis meaning that the entire donor profile is not provided, only the required information that is needed to perform the job.  All individuals working at or on behalf of MMRI are required to sign confidentiality agreements.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

  • We do not share, sell, or trade Personal Information collected from donors.
  • We do not send mailings on behalf of other organizations.
  • Donor names may be publicly associated with their donation unless the donor explicitly chooses to remain anonymous when donating and must notify MMRI of this choice.
  • We use Personal Information to process financial payments and protect against potential fraud.
  • We use Personal Information to provide donation receipts and acknowledgement letters.
  • We use Personal Information to notify donors of upcoming events and activities.
  • We use Personal Information to perform internal analyses and documentation.
  • Donors have the right to review personal information that we have collected about them.
  • Donors have the right to opt out of future communications from MMRI.

Information Safeguards

We protect your data by keeping your information stored in servers behind MMRI firewalls.  Your credit card transactions are processed through a third-party vendor that uses multi-factor authentication and provides their own policy statement.  They only keep on file the last 4 digits of the card and the rest is done through tokenization.

12. DONOR BILL OF RIGHTS

The Donor Bill of Rights Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:

  1. To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
  2. To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
  3. To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
  4. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  5. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
  6. To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
