MMRI to Host 2026 Lupus Walk in Utica, NY to Support Lupus Research

Participants walking during MMRI’s 2026 Lupus Walk in Utica NY

Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) is proud to announce its third annual Lupus Walk on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in partnership with the Lupus and Allied Diseases Association, Inc. (LADA). Held on the beautiful Masonic Care Community campus in Utica, New York, the event will bring together community members, advocates, patients, and supporters for a meaningful day focused on lupus awareness and advancing lupus research.

A Community Event Supporting Lupus Awareness
Designed for all ages and abilities, the Lupus Walk will feature both a 5K walk/run and a 1-mile walk, giving participants multiple ways to get involved and show support for those affected by lupus.

Attendees can also enjoy a fun-filled morning featuring vendor tables, food trucks, games, face painting, and family-friendly activities. Whether you walk, run, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines, the event is an opportunity to come together as a community while supporting an important cause.

Advancing Lupus Research at MMRI
Every dollar raised through the Lupus Walk directly supports MMRI’s lupus research initiatives. MMRI scientists are studying how increased activity of specific biological enzymes may influence the progression of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including complications such as lupus nephritis and lupus-associated myocarditis.

Researchers are also developing novel therapeutic approaches aimed at improving treatment options for individuals living with lupus and related autoimmune diseases. Community support helps accelerate discoveries that could lead to better outcomes and improved quality of life for patients worldwide.
