MMRI to Host its Third Annual Lupus Walk in Partnership with Lupus and Allied Diseases Association, Inc. (LADA)
MMRI is excited to announce its third annual Lupus Walk on Saturday, May 9, 2026, held in partnership with Lupus & Allied Diseases Association, Inc. (LADA). The event will take place on the beautiful Masonic Care Community campus in Utica, New York, bringing together community members, supporters, and advocates for a meaningful day dedicated to raising awareness and advancing lupus research.
This fun, family-friendly event invites participants of all ages and abilities to choose between a 5K walk/run or a 1-mile walk, making it easy for everyone to get involved. Attendees can enjoy a lively morning filled with vendor tables, food trucks, games, face painting, and more. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather friends, family, and colleagues to show support for those affected by lupus while enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere.
Every step taken and every dollar raised will directly support MMRI’s lupus research initiatives. At MMRI, our scientists are studying how the increased activity of specific biological enzymes in the body can affect the progression and pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including the development of lupus nephritis and lupus-associated myocarditis, while also developing novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of SLE and lupus nephritis. By participating in the Lupus Walk, you’re helping move critical research forward and bringing hope to the lupus community.
